Lodge Drop Biscuit Iron

Lodge Drop Biscuit Iron

Hi Everyone

This is for the folks that have the Lodge Drop Biscuit Iron or those wondering what to do with one.

I used store bought biscuits because I was testing the recipe.

Make your favorite Sloppy Joe meat sauce or Taco Meat or anything for that matter. Flatten your biscuits out and tuck them into to holes, removing any air along the bottom edges. The meat mixture should be cool to keep the biscuits from rising back up to quickly.

Top with cheese and jalapenos and bake at 350 for 20 - 30 minutes. The pictures are some of my test projects. They came out nice and tasty. These make a great finger food for the kids.

I hope you give it a try, they are fun to make. If you want to bake them in a Dutch, you will need a bakers rack and a 14" DO.

The iron can be used to make little fruit pies as well as drop biscuits.

Let me know what you think and what ideas you have for more recipes.

I've got a muffin tin I cut back to a 4 holer to use while camping. It fits right real nice in my 12. I like this idea, what a great way to serve up some snacks to the kids.
