Camping and Dutch Oven Gathering 08/28/10

Postby Camp_Master » Thu Aug 05, 2010 4:54 pm

I've made plans to go camping Aug 28th.

I had a reader mention Cane Creek in Waxhaw, NC. I did a little research and the place looks good to me.

I just need to make my reservations and will post what site I'll be on when I do.

If you would like to join me, post your intentions here.

I hope to see some of you there. This time my wife will be joining me. :)
She was jealous that she missed the Mile High DOG.

Thx,
Dan

Wish I could make it. Kids starting school and Labor Day coming.

I hope you find someone to go with you.

Hi Diane

The Wifeys are more than welcome. If your Dutch Oven does not have legs you can use a lid rack to hold it up, so you can put coals under it. You can get them at Bass Pro Shop, etc. If it have a standard Dutch oven lid, make a ring of wadded foil to hold the coals on top.

I've called in my reservation and waiting to hear back as to what site I'll have.

I've been working on my menu for some easy camp recipes. Think about what you want to eat for dinner and I'll help you make it. Casseroles are good for starters. Any kind of one pot meal.

No hamburgers or hot dogs for me.

Look forward to see ya'll

time will things need to be ready?

Good Morning,

I received my confirmation. I'll be on Site #69.

Hi, Outlaw

I'll be there all weekend. I have not heard about anyone cooking but me. I'm flexible.

I figured I would do a few demos for lunch for Diane and her friends.

?? Dinner at 6 pm? What ever works for you.

Looking forward to it.

I'm ready to go. I not sure how many people will be at Cane Creek on the 28th, but I hope to see some of you there. I should be at the campground Friday the 27th about 1 pm or so. I'll be there through Sunday.

I'll be at Site #69. Stop by and say Hello.

If it will stop raining I'm going to seal my tent and put on a fresh coating of water repellent. I've cleaned all my gear, got my menu set up, shopping list. Just need to "DO IT"

If work don't change we will be there Saturday around noon. Thinking about a reuben meatloaf, Pina Colada bread pudding and a layered onion, potato with cheese.
