Chili Cook Out

Postby Camp_Master » Fri Oct 08, 2010 4:24 pm

Hi Everyone,

I'm just throwing this out for fun. How bout we do a Dutch Oven Chili Cook Out?

Show us your favorite chili recipe or something spicy. How about something from the islands.

Chili, Jerk Pork, Red Beans and Rice, Tamales, Pozole Rojo . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

We let this post ride and ya'll throw out some dates or express some interest and we'll make it happen.
I'm flexible, any upcoming Saturday is good for me.

I know the holidays are coming, but my family is spread out across this great country, so my holidays are my wife and I. Let me know what ya think.

Hello Fellow Cooks,

We had a Great time at the Kings Mountain Dutch Oven Gathering. While we were there we talked more about the Chili Cook Out. So we batted around a few dates and came up with 11/13/10.

We will visit Kings Mountain again as it seems to be centrally located. I've gone ahead and booked Shelter No 1. It has 8 picnic tables and a wood burning stove / fireplace. Everyone is welcome and if you can bring some firewood as we do not know what Mother Nature will throw at us.

Bring your favorite chili recipe or something spicy  to keep us warm. Also we will need bread for sopping up the chili. If you have bread recipes, bring them along.

Don't forget to bring your favorite hot beverages too.

Please chime in and let us know your coming. Let's make this the BIGGEST Gathering of the year. This will be our last chance to cook together until the spring.

More info to come . . . . . .

Thx,
Dan

Hi Diane

I hope you feel better. We missed you at Kings Mountain.

I'd like to go back to Cane Creek, but the pavilions are pricey. If you know someone there, maybe they could cut us a break? ;)

I'm looking forward to see everyone again for a big batch of "Texas Red".

We are ready to go. See ya'll soon.

Hi Randy

I have some wood, but not enough to last the day, anything you could bring would be a great help.

I've organized my gear and ready to go. 7 days and we'll be having some real fun.

Hey Keith! Are we doing breakfast again? Let me know I'll come early and we can do it up right.

I caught myself a cold last night, so I be resting up, I'll be ready to Rock 'n Roll come Saturday.

See U Then.

Well, I was informed this past Sunday that I'm supposed to be in a training meeting @10am on Saturday. I'm still trying to figure out a way to get out of it, but it's looking like I might not be to Kings Mountain until later in the afternoon. Sorry -
