Backpack Stoves

Hi Everyone

I was playing with my stoves last night. Checking burn times.

My Jetboil, nice stove, boiled a two cups of water in 4 minutes. That's a great time for a quick lunch on the trail. 1 cup for a meal and 1 cup for coffee. This is my primary hiking stove.

The little alcohol burner, my favorite, will boil one cup of water in 5 minutes. When primed has enough fuel to handle two cups. Snack and beverage in 13 minutes. The only draw back is if its windy. Better have a windscreen.

I have a Esbit stove, but it blackens everything up because of the solid fuel tabs. What a pain. Keep it for emergencies

"I like to eat, so I cook. I like to play with fire, so I cook outside." Gotta have a hobby.

Hey Dan

I've have a Jetboil too. I like it very much. I seem to use for boiling water to make coffee, not much else.

I'll bet ya playing with those tiny backpack stoves could be fun.
