Pasties

Pasties

Postby Oysterpot » Sun Oct 10, 2010 7:39 pm

Pasties are a meat pie, that the northern miners lived on in the early days of our country.

I used the Crisco pie dough recipe for the crust
The filling consisted of
ground chuck
shredded carrot
chopped onion
diced potatoes

The ones I made tonight made 4 large pasties, with a whole lot of filling left over. I could have made 4 more pasties easy.

Those look real good. I don't know if I'll make those in a Dutch, but I'm going to give it a whirl in the kitchen.

Thank for the recipes, I can taste them now, Mmmmmmmm!

Hi Oysterpot

Thank for the recipe.

I made these last night. I made them with a Mexican twist like Empanadas. They were fun to make and my kids ate them up. Now my mind is thinking up new ways to make these.

Hey Frankie

I had some leftover chicken from the Sunday Dinner. I shredded it up and add a few other odds and ends.

They came out real good. I cheated and made them in the kitchen, oh well they were still good.
